My Story

Renato Moore’s journey in the entertainment industry began at the tender age of four when a talent agent discovered him while he was playing ice hockey. His early foray into the spotlight saw him starring in commercials for iconic brands like McDonald’s and Big Wheels, and even earning a speaking role in the movie Prophecy. This early exposure ignited a passion for storytelling and production that has defined his remarkable career.

From Child Actor to Cinematic Visionary
Transitioning seamlessly from front of the camera to behind it, Renato’s production career took off like a snowball effect. Starting as an editor, he quickly advanced to cameraman—a role where his innate eye for cinematography shone through, earning accolades from directors and producers alike. His deep understanding of shot composition and narrative structure naturally led him to directing.

Pioneering Directorial Excellence
Renato’s directorial debut with Wellergrossman Productions marked the beginning of a series of accomplishments. There, he became the go-to Director of Photography and Director, instrumental in shaping the visual style of numerous shows. His subsequent work with Pietown Productions further honed his lighting skills on hit shows such as Flip or Flop, House Hunters, and House Hunters Renovation—experiences he fondly describes as “getting paid to practice.”

Accolades and High-Profile Collaborations
As his career evolved, Renato ventured into more cinematic and reenactment projects. His work on Love Addiction and The Mathis Project, starring the Honorable Judge Greg Mathis, stands as a highlight of his career. Collaborating with Adam Corrola on To Catch a Contractor further solidified his reputation, culminating in his first Emmy win in 2015 for the hit show Home Made Simple.

Recent Projects and New Ventures
In recent years, Renato has balanced roles as both Director and Director of Photography across a range of projects. He wrapped up a successful two-year stint directing Food Paradise on the Travel Channel and produced a festive spin-off holiday food show with celebrated TV host and chef Carla Hall, which aired in September 2019. His creative versatility was also on display in the pilot for Busted—hosted by the energetic Tamar Braxton—filmed in January 2020. Notably, Renato stepped in as the Director of Photography on a Kevin Hart Netflix documentary, ensuring the project’s seamless continuation when the lead D.P. was unavailable.

Innovation Amid Challenges
During the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic, Renato transformed his home into a state-of-the-art living studio. This innovative space now hosts everything from music videos and movie shoots to his beloved cooking shows. In September 2020, he took on the role of producer for Think And Grow Rich: A Black Choice, a modern adaptation of the timeless classic originally penned by Dr. Dennis Kimbro and Napoleon Hill—an ambitious project still in the funding stages.

Renato Moore’s career is a testament to relentless passion and creative ingenuity. As he proudly states, “I LOVE WHAT I DO AND I DO WHAT I LOVE!” With an unwavering commitment to his craft, there’s no limit to where his vision can take him next.
